A dragonfly stalks prey in a field near a pond on a hot summer day. They seem to wait, pursue and capture prey right out of the air, then return to their perch to strike again. They are an ancient creature, and quite beautiful as well. Kohler Park, Horsham PA-USA.
A turkey lurks below a bird feeding station, waiting for dropped seed. The sunlight filtering through the canopy made it feel like a stage. This turkey is pretty intimidating looking in black and white. Shot at Pennypack Ecological Trust, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania-USA
The Spring Azure is a tiny butterfly that can measure only 3/4" from wing tip to wing tip, and is found to be the first fluttering butterfly of the season in most of North America. Their size, speed, and "I owe you nothing" attitude makes a great game of macro photography, and a personal favorite insect image to hunt and photograph.
A honey bee is busy tending to the harvesting of nectar. Hate to say, but I have not seen as many honey bees this year as last year, which seemed to have many more than in years past. Pennsylvania, US.
