Icons of Two Seasons

A leftover leaf from the fall rests atop ice from a frozen puddle on a frigid winter day. With the snow on the ground, the light gave this small scene a surreal look, almost like a painting. Besides bringing out some of the colors a bit, and color correction, I did very little editing and post work to the image.

Starkscape

A grouping of trees on a frigid, sunny day after a light snowfall. The sun lit the snow up to a blinding degree, which made the shadows cast by the trees really stand out. Horsham, PA-US

Cumulonimbus Cloud Top at Sunset

Cumulonimbus cloud catches the last sun before sunset. It was an impressive cloud that formed and wowed the sky for a solid hour just before and after twilight.

Ice World

A frozen soap bubble on a six degree winter day. It landed on the needles of a shrub, and froze in place. When life gives you arctic temperatures, make frozen soap bubbles. Horsham PA-US

Waxing Gibbous Moon

Waxing Gibbous Moon. This was the build up to the New Year's Day 2018 full moon, known as a supermoon. This was shot 12/30 on a very frigid night. I used a 75-300mm telephoto lens which captured better detail than my previous attempts. Horsham PA

Milky Way Rising

The Milky Way begins its nightly trip through the sky. Shot in the small town of Afton, Wyoming-US, which is part of the aptly named Star Valley. You can see the galaxy with impressive detail with the naked eye.

Happy New Year! - Great American Eclipse Totality

Happy New Years! When I thought about my favorite shot of 2017, I immediately realized that the eclipse shot from Wyoming is it. In what seemed to be a sheer force of will, me and my wife pushed through a thousand options for places to witness the event. We settled on Wyoming due to favorable weather, but where exactly? In the end, it was a tip from a friendly cowboy waiting for a seat for 45 minutes in the packed restaurant near Afton,Wyoming. I told him to wait just a minute or two longer for our seat, as we were finishing up our dinner soon. On my way out, he said under his breathe, two words... Victor Idaho. He must have heard me talking about the eclipse plans while we ate. At that moment I knew that's where we were headed. While we went a little further north than Victor, it paid off with this stunning location in the Grand Teton National Forest, surrounded by beautiful mountains and friendly people. More than I could have hoped for. Thanks to that anonymous kindhearted soul for settling things for us!

Also a big Thank You to the people who have purchased prints of this. I just sold a large poster to an anonymous buyer who left a note saying this is how they remembered the eclipse, colors and all, a big compliment for me. Where did they watch it from? Not far away from us, in Boise Idaho. Life is funny that way.

Here's to an equally inspiring 2018. Thank you for your support!!
