Eating the Kill
A dolichopodidae fly feasts on what appears to be an aphid or another common garden pest. These flies are a beautiful metallic iridescent in color, and are beneficial bugs to have around the garden. They are a bit jumpy and fast, but this one seemed to slow down to enjoy it's meal, which was a graphic ordeal to witness through the view finder on my camera. Available as greeting cards and framed prints on dlamb photography.

This is part of my Macro collection on RedBubble, available as prints, printed tote bag, throw pillows, stickers and shirts. It is also available on 500px as digital downloads, prints, and available for licensing.
